Some political experts give possible reasons for low voter turnout
SUMMARY: Voter turnout was low in Tuesday's Primary Election in Mississippi due to familiar faces and lack of exciting races, according to political experts. Incumbents running for office in a Republican-dominated state did not inspire a great turnout. There were over 30,000 fewer votes cast for governor compared to the previous primary election. Experts believe that the primary election does not generate much interest among voters.
