Some former Hamilton daycare workers sentenced in Monroe County court
SUMMARY: Five former daycare workers in Hamilton, Mississippi, have been sentenced in the Monroe County Justice Court for scaring children. Oci-Anna Kilburn and Sierra McCandless pleaded no contest to charges of misdemeanor child deprivation of necessities, and will serve one year in jail, 12 months probation, and pay a fine of over $5,900. Jennifer Newman pleaded guilty to one charge with the others pending, and was sentenced to six months of jail time suspended with 12 months probation. Traci Hutson pleaded guilty to simple assault on a minor, with other charges pending. Misty Shyenne Mills has not yet had her day in court. The women were accused of scaring children at Lil’ Blessings Child Care and Learning Center with a mask from the movie Scream.

Man arrested after fatal shooting in South Jackson
SUMMARY: In Jackson, Mississippi, police have arrested 25-year-old Emanuel Jaynes in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on October 4. AKA chapter at MUW hosts ‘Soar the Polls’
