Some Alabama small businesses will see monthly tax break starting Oct. 1
SUMMARY: Starting October 1, some small businesses in Alabama will see a monthly tax break. The new legislation removes the monthly estimated sales tax requirement for businesses with less than $20,000 in average monthly sales tax liability. This applies to stores with less than $500,000 in monthly sales. These businesses will now pay sales taxes based on the previous month’s sales tax receipts, allowing for more cash flow. It is estimated that 3,000 stores will be impacted, and they will be notified by letter.
