Slain Terrell police officer remembered at vigil
SUMMARY: A vigil was held in Cedar Hill to honor Terrell police officer Jacob Candanosa, who was shot and killed during a traffic stop a week prior. The 28-year-old officer was fatally wounded by 25-year-old Daren Johnson. Family, friends, and fellow officers gathered at Candanosa’s father’s roller skating rink, a place central to Candanosa’s life. His father, David, expressed gratitude for the community’s overwhelming support and shared heartfelt memories of his son, who would have turned 29 that weekend. Donations are being collected for Candanosa’s young daughter for Christmas, while his funeral is scheduled for Tuesday.
