Skeletal remains found near Creve Coeur Lake identified as woman missing for months
SUMMARY: Human skeletal remains found at Creve Coeur Lake Park on Tuesday are likely those of 53-year-old Tammy Ann Pirrin, a South St. Louis woman reported missing in September. The discovery prompted authorities to close off part of the park, and police are awaiting final confirmation from the county medical examiner. Tammy’s family is devastated, with her cousin describing her as a vibrant, tough individual. The cousin had recently urged Tammy to move to California before the tragic event. Authorities are still investigating, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Maryland Heights Police Department.
Authorities have tentatively identified human remains located near Creve Coeur Lake earlier this week as a woman reported missing for several months.

Could prime Albert Pujols fetch $1 billion in today's MLB free agency?
SUMMARY: Juan Soto recently signed a historic 15-year, $765 million contract, the largest in U.S. sports history. In contrast, Albert Pujols, who previously held a significant record, earned less than half of that over 22 seasons. Adjusted for inflation, Pujols’ earlier contracts could be worth around $198 million and $355 million today. Analyzing their performance, Pujols excelled in key offensive stats, suggesting he could command around $1.23 billion if entering free agency now. While various factors might temper this figure, Pujols could rival Soto’s record, highlighting the evolving dynamics of MLB contract values.

Man charged after mountain lion's shooting death in Iron County, Missouri
SUMMARY: Joseph A. Licklider, 29, from Desloge, Missouri, has been charged with a misdemeanor for illegally shooting a mountain lion in Iron County. The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) considers mountain lions a protected species, and their killing is only justified in self-defense or to protect livestock. Investigators determined that Licklider’s actions were not justified, supported by evidence including a kill site and social media posts. Licklider claimed he shot the mountain lion while deer hunting, stating he “got excited” when he saw it. If convicted, he could face a year in jail or a $2,000 fine.

Congressman Cleaver helps solve Jackson County ARPA dispute
SUMMARY: The Jackson County, Missouri Legislature and Democratic County Executive Frank White have agreed on the allocation of $70.4 million in remaining COVID-19 relief funds from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). The funds will support infrastructure projects and community initiatives, preventing the money from being returned to the federal government. During a recent legislative meeting, there was positive public response to the agreement. Congressman Emanuel Cleaver facilitated discussions to ensure the legislation met federal guidelines. White is focusing on courthouse repairs and relocating county offices, emphasizing that nonprofits will need to reapply for funding through a revised process.
