SUMMARY: Singing River Health System is dealing with a cyber attack that has caused certain internal systems to be taken offline. The hospital is working with IT professionals and law enforcement to investigate the attack and determine when their systems will be back online. In the meantime, the hospital is using downtime procedures and documenting patient information on paper. Singing River is assuring patients that despite the disruption in online systems, they are still providing the highest quality care and have protocols in place to deliver that care. Proponents argue that legalizing mobile betting could tap into a $3 billion illegal betting market, while opponents, like Senate Chair David Blount, emphasize that it does not enhance tourism or investment. Mississippi remains one of 19 states without mobile sports betting.

Governor Reeves emphasized the urgent need for federal help, despite ongoing state efforts. If approved, this would mark Trump’s first FEMA action since criticizing the agency and threatening cuts.
