Singing River Health System and Catholic nonprofit terminate purchase discussions

SUMMARY: Singing River Health System (SRHS) is no longer being sold to Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System (FMOLHS) as negotiations have ended without reaching a consensus agreement. FMOLHS was selected as the preferred buyer for SRHS through a request for proposal process in March, but talks between the two parties have now been terminated. SRHS expressed interest in finding a new buyer for the hospital due to financial hardships experienced in the healthcare industry. The Jackson County Board of Supervisors opened the bidding process in November 2022, but a new buyer has yet to be found.
