Shooting at Jackson apartment complex damages buildings, vehicles
SUMMARY: Jackson police are investigating a shooting at The Park at Inverness apartment complex on Ridgewood Road that occurred on Saturday, June 29. Detective Tommie Brown stated that the incident involved multiple suspects in the parking lot, but no injuries have been reported. Neighbors observed four boys fleeing the scene while firing shots, leaving several bullet casings on the ground. Buildings and vehicles were damaged in the incident. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Jackson Police Department or Crime Stoppers.

SUMMARY: A bridge on U.S. 80 over the Pearl River, at the Hinds/Rankin County line in Jackson, Mississippi, will be closed for several months starting December 2, 2024, due to deck replacement by the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT). The closure is expected to last until summer 2025. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes, including I-20, I-55, State Street, and local roads.
