SUMMARY: There have been some surprising results in the primary races for Hinds County Supervisors. In District 1, incumbent Robert Graham narrowly defeated his Democratic competitors Eva Crisler and Luigia Hodge. In District 2, Anthony Smith pulled off an upset by defeating incumbent David Archie. Smith has a significant lead over Archie. In District 3, Deborah Dixson is currently winning against incumbent Credell Calhoun and Democratic candidate Antonio Porter. This race is likely heading to a runoff. In District 4, Wanda Evers is leading over incumbent Vern Gavin, but a runoff is also possible. In District 5, incumbent Bobby McGowan is leading, but not enough to secure a victory. This race will also likely go to a runoff.

Tuesday’s primary election brought an upset in the Hinds County Board of Supervisors.
