Severe Preparedness Week is happening next week in Mississippi

SUMMARY: Governor Tate Reeves is urging Mississippians to prepare for spring severe weather as last year saw over 60 tornadoes, including an EF4 and two EF3 tornadoes. A statewide tornado drill will take place on Wednesday at 9:15 am. The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency and National Weather Service will highlight different severe weather topics, including making a severe weather plan, dealing with severe thunderstorms, flash flooding, tornadoes, lightning alerts, and mobile home safety. Each morning next week, WTV 9 news will feature detailed information on how to stay safe during severe weather. Governor Reeves has declared next week as spring severe weather preparedness week.
