Senatobia boy accused of urinating in public ordered to write 2-page essay about Kobe Bryant
SUMMARY: An 11-year-old Mississippi boy, Quantavious Eason, arrested for public urination, has been ordered to serve three months probation and write an essay on Kobe Bryant. Taken into custody last August outside a law office where his mother was, the situation led to the involved officer’s dismissal after an internal investigation. Initially told he would get a court referral, Quantavious was arrested by arriving officers. William Carey College of Osteopathic Medicine earns high rankings for graduate programs
SUMMARY: William Carey University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine in Hattiesburg has earned top-10 national rankings for the fourth consecutive year in U.S. News & World Report’s 2025 Best Graduate Schools of Medicine. The school ranked No. 7 for graduates serving in rural areas, No. 3 for primary care practice, and No. 4 for serving areas with health professional shortages. The program’s focus on primary care education has contributed to over 1,200 graduates, with more than 70% in primary care specialties. New facilities, including the Institute of Primary Care, aim to expand training and support Mississippi’s healthcare needs.

SUMMARY: Ole Miss standout Madison Scott was selected by the Dallas Wings as the 14th overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft. A native of Indian Head, Md., Scott had an impressive five-year career at Ole Miss, averaging 11.8 points and 3.7 assists per game during her senior season. She became the fourth player in school history to surpass 1,600 career points and 1,000 rebounds. Scott earned All-SEC Second Team honors and was named the 2025 Gillom Trophy winner. She will join the Wings for the 2025 WNBA Season, which begins on May 16.
