Second 4-County group sent to Florida electric to assist in damage

This eleven-man team will collaborate with Peace River Electric Cooperative for power restoration preparations amid heavy winds and storm surges. Prosecutors in Carly Gregg case respond to defense's request for new trial
SUMMARY: In Rankin County, Mississippi, Carly Gregg was convicted of murdering her mother and was sentenced to life in prison, plus an additional 10 years for tampering with evidence. The defense has filed for a new trial, citing newly discovered evidence and claiming that Gregg did not receive a fair trial. However, the prosecution contends that the motion lacks specific factual grounds and legal authority, asserting that the jury’s verdict was correct. The fatal shooting incident occurred on March 19, 2024, when Gregg allegedly shot her mother and injured her stepfather before being apprehended by authorities.

Wobble Tracker: Live updates on Hurricane Milton's path โ and where it may make landfall
SUMMARY: Hurricane Milton, a powerful Category 4 to 5 storm, is approaching Florida’s west coast and could cause significant damage upon landfall. The precise location of impact is crucial, as it will affect the extent of storm surge in coastal areas. The Wobble Tracker, created by Nexstar’s WFLA, monitors minor path changes that could drastically influence landfall effects. Current forecasts suggest Milton might pass south of Tampa Bay, with officials warning residents to heed evacuation orders. Preparedness is emphasized, as small shifts can make Tampa Bay a potential “ground zero” for the storm’s impact.
