Georgia updating Peach Pass | What drivers should know
SUMMARY: The Peach Pass system in Georgia is undergoing a software update, prompting motorists to check their accounts for accuracy and sufficient funding. This update, the first in 13 years, requires users with Peach Passes before December 11th to verify their details. The new app will be available after December 17th. Despite the changes, toll enforcement will continue, and cameras will still capture license plates to issue fines for violations. Many drivers rely on the Peach Pass for quicker travel on I-75 and I-85, emphasizing its value in navigating Atlanta’s traffic.
Drivers need to be sure to double-check their information or risk possible fines once the system updates —-

Substantial policy moves sought for Georgia child care costs | Georgia
SUMMARY: State Sen. Brian Strickland, chairman of the Senate Study Committee on Access to Affordable Childcare, expressed hopes for significant legislative changes to improve child care access in Georgia. The committee, which met to discuss challenges exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, aims to explore ways to make child care more affordable and accessible. The Georgia Lottery reported allocating $1.49 billion for education and child care, highlighting the importance of pre-K programs. Nonprofit experts advocated for substantial state investment to address low-income families’ needs, while cautioning that any new funding should include reforms to existing child care subsidies to promote work and family stability.
