SUMMARY: Scout Troop 85 became the first group to complete the Natchez Trace Historic Trail, earning a large medal for their achievement. The troop hiked 20 miles each in Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee, totaling 60 miles. They also participated in a service project, camped at Meriwether Lewis Campground, and wrote two 400-word essays on the historic trail and Meriwether Lewis. It took three and a half years for someone to accept this challenge. Mr. Perkins hopes to repeat the experience in the future and involve other troops in appreciating the historic Natchez Trace. Congratulations to Vance and the team on their accomplishment!
