Schools like DT Cox Elementary School spend time developing plans to keep staff and students safe during severe weather, including performing drills and finding a safe place quickly. Principal Cassie Mask emphasized the importance of making sure students know the steps and procedures in case of bad weather. Multiple ways to get alerts and stay prepared include using the WTV weather app, weather radios, and tornado sirens. Tomorrow morning, there will be a statewide test for tornado sirens at 9:15.
