School supplies can be expensive; several school districts easing parents' minds
SUMMARY: Several school districts are providing free school supplies to students this year, easing the financial burden on parents. For instance, a typical school supply list for one child can total around $73, excluding likely forgotten items. Some parents spend up to $150 per child when including additional essentials like book bags and clothes. This initiative has been welcomed as a significant relief for families, particularly those with multiple children. Additionally, Mississippi’s tax-free weekend begins this Friday, further alleviating back-to-school expenses, although it doesn’t cover all school-related items.
