Saturday 10pm Tropical Update: Nadine moves inland in southern Mexico, Hurricane Oscar near Bahamas

SUMMARY: Hurricane Oscar has developed near the Bahamas as a category one storm, bringing gusts up to 105 miles per hour and significant rain, strong winds, and storm surge to the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, and potentially parts of Cuba in the coming days. Meanwhile, tropical storm Naen is weakening but will still produce heavy rain in southern Mexico. Over the next , the of Mexico and the Gulf Coast will remain from tropical concerns, with no threats to the continental United States. Oscar will eventually curve northeast into the open Atlantic by early next week.

Meteorologist Alexa Trischler says Nadine is expected to weaken. Hurricane Oscar is a category 1 storm with impacts to Bahamas, Turks and Caicos Islands.

Son of man allegedly shot by SAPD officers wants better de-escalation tactics implemented

Police Chief William McManus stated he pointed his weapon at the officers, prompting the shooting. SUMMARY: Charles Bagley Jr., the former LSU Football Director of External Relations, tragically died in an in Tangipahoa Parish. The incident occurred on U.S. Highway 55 when Bagley’s car was struck while he was entering an intersection. After exiting his vehicle to check on the other driver, he was tragically hit by a Toyota Tundra. Known for his 20-year tenure at LSU, Bagley contributed to three national championships and four SEC titles. The crash is currently under investigation.
