Saints extend NFC South lead despite bye week
SUMMARY: The New Orleans Saints, holding a surprising 5-5 record given the talent on their roster and the NFL’s easiest schedule, still lead the NFC South during their bye week. This puts them in a position to potentially host a playoff game. With one of the simplest remaining schedules, including games against division rivals such as the Falcons, Buccaneers, and Panthers, they maintain control of their fate. Coach Dennis Allen encouraged the team to rest and reset, referencing last year’s successful finish to the regular season. The Saints aim to come back strong against the Falcons in their next game following the bye.

Sports Betting in Mississippi
SUMMARY: Mississippi is moving closer to legalizing mobile sports betting after the House passed a supportive bill. Currently, residents can only place bets at casinos, but this legislation could change that, particularly ahead of the Super Bowl, one of the most heavily wagered events globally. While mobile betting won’t be ready in time for this year’s game, there’s significant demand, with nearly 9 million attempts to access mobile sportsbooks noted. If approved, the bill could generate millions in annual revenue for the state, thanks to a proposed 12% tax on mobile bets, benefiting all 82 counties.
