Safe Place Foundation hosts wash day to get kids ready for school
SUMMARY: SaPerior Patton, founder of the Safe Place Foundation, aims to ensure every child has clean clothes for school, recognizing that not all families can afford new attire. During a Community Wash Day event in Starkville, community members benefited from free laundry services, highlighting the importance of clean clothing, especially as schools prepare to reopen. Patton’s inspiration for this initiative stems from her own childhood experiences of wearing dirty clothes. The event, supported by donations, aimed to foster inclusivity and show support for those in need, emphasizing that everyone deserves to feel seen and cared for. This was the second annual event.
