RV parks provide temporary housing for out-of-town workers
SUMMARY: Out-of-town workers in the Golden Triangle area, encompassing parts of Mississippi and Alabama, often utilize campgrounds for housing due to impractically long commute distances. Joe Max Higgins, CEO of Golden Triangle Link, explains that many workers, primarily in plant, construction, and steel industries, face 12-hour shifts, making long drives difficult. RV parks offer a cost-effective solution, with rents around $600 per month inclusive of utilities. This arrangement helps workers save money and reduces pressure on local rental markets. Over 3,000 construction workers in Columbus depend on these RV parks for housing.
