Arkansas State Fair ride malfunctions, leaving riders stuck upside down
SUMMARY: At the Arkansas State Fair in Little Rock, an incident occurred where two children, aged 11 and 8, were stuck upside down on a carnival ride for over 15 minutes. Ally Metzger recorded a video showing her children in distress, with her 11-year-old appearing to have passed out. She later recounted that her daughter experienced dizziness and pain due to circulation issues. According to a representative from North American Midway Entertainment, a fault in the ride’s computer caused it to shut down mid-operation, leading to the prolonged suspension. Emergency protocols were followed to safely evacuate the riders.
Kids were trapped upside down for at least 15 minutes.

Rogers fire update
SUMMARY: A fire at the Rogers Recycling Plant in Benton County is escalating due to windy conditions, prompting additional firefighting crews to assist with containment efforts. The blaze, which began inside a metal building, has been difficult to extinguish as the structure’s walls have collapsed over the flames. Firefighters are awaiting cooler temperatures to access and extinguish the smoldering materials underneath. Two employees were injured, with one hospitalized. The fire chief noted that despite local water access, the scale of the fire required assistance from 15 agencies and additional water sources. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
