SUMMARY: A restaurant should have a clear focus, as menus with too broad a range often lead to mediocre food. Rockin Chicken and Waffle in D’Iberville, only four months old, has received rave reviews for its simple yet excellent chicken and waffles. As the first Chicken and Waffle Sandwich restaurant on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, it offers fresh, made-to-order sandwiches, burgers, wraps, salads, and more. Chicken and waffles, a dish with historical roots dating back to the 1600s, is considered soul food by many today. This restaurant, despite its small menu, impresses with its classic chicken and waffles, diverse sandwiches, and sides. It’s a family-run business that’s highly recommended for a visit.

SUMMARY: Lawndale Elementary School students participated in their first-ever mascot election on November 5. Principal Talina Knight emphasized the importance of having a mascot for school spirit and branding. The initiative, proposed by teacher Denise Carter, taught students about the election process through real-world applications, including leadership and campaigning. Students created mascots, led by the dolphin, golden retriever, and panther, and campaigned using posters and costumes. On November 4, students registered to vote, and the election was conducted using a system reflecting real-world electoral processes. The golden retriever, named Champ, was ultimately elected as the school’s mascot.
