Robinson’s family asks court to reconsider enforcement of settlement agreement order
SUMMARY: The family of George Robinson in Jackson is requesting the court to reconsider enforcing a settlement agreement with the city from April 2024. The Jackson City Council settled with Robinson's sister for $177,000 in 2019 after the family sued the city, certain police officers, and AMR, alleging they were responsible for Robinson's death. Following the public revelation of the settlement, lawyers for Wade Robinson's sister intended to continue legal action. However, Judge Fay Peterson ruled last Friday that the settlement is legally binding and noted that Jackson cannot legally keep settlements confidential.
