Robinson’s family asks court to reconsider enforcement of settlement agreement order
SUMMARY: The family of George Robinson requested the court to reconsider enforcing a settlement with the City of Jackson. This follows Hinds County Circuit Court Judge Faye Peterson’s rejection of the family’s legal objection to the settlement. In April 2024, the Jackson City Council agreed to a $17,000 settlement with Robinson’s sister, Bettersten Wade, who claimed Robinson was killed by former Jackson police officer Anthony Fox in 2019. Robinson died from a brain hemorrhage after a police encounter. Fox was initially convicted of manslaughter but had his conviction reversed in January 2024, leading to his reinstatement as a K9 narcotics detective with the Clinton Police Department.
