Road in Forrest County to be closed to add turn lane
SUMMARY: Ira Hudson Road in Forest County is closed for construction as crews work to complete the new L's Travel Stop. Residents in the Dixie Community have expressed concerns about traffic once the stop opens. To improve safety, Ira Hudson Road is being widened from two to three lanes for about a quarter mile near Elks Lake Road to provide a turn lane. Originally scheduled for three weeks, potential weather delays might extend the closure, but progress is steady. While the road should reopen in approximately three weeks, the entire project is expected to be completed by Fall.
