Ridgeland man captured after prison escape

SUMMARY: 39-year-old Ryan Burks, a convict serving a 30-year sentence for sexual battery and burglary, escaped from the Carroll County Regional Correctional Facility on Wednesday with the help of kitchen worker Leslie McNeal. Staff noticed both were missing simultaneously. Investigators found that McNeal had driven Burks away in her car, which later crashed in Oxford after a police chase. Both Burks and McNeal were captured at the crash scene. Following this incident, Burks faces additional charges. Authorities urging anyone with information related to the robbery to contact Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS.
