Protesters, including Allison Lauderdale, criticized elected officials for their handling of the project. Conversely, Apex Clean Energy’s Brian O’Shea highlighted the project’s economic benefits, including $150 million in new local tax revenue and construction jobs. More than 1,000 residents have signed a petition for a one-year moratorium.
