Republican raises nearly $2 million in U.S. House 3 | Georgia
SUMMARY: In Georgia’s District 3 U.S. House race, Republican Brian Jack far outpaced Democratic opponent Maura Keller in fundraising, raising nearly $2 million compared to Keller’s $148,000. Despite Jack’s financial advantage, both candidates had similar cash on hand before the election. District 3, heavily Republican since 2004, last elected a Democrat in 2004, when Drew Ferguson won nearly 70% of the vote. Jack aligns with Donald Trump’s policies, focusing on immigration and crime, while Keller advocates for reproductive health, education, and LGBTQ+ rights, criticizing Jack’s Trump ties as out of touch with constituents. Early voting has seen record turnout.

Neighbors express concerns after Wellstar announces plans for site of former Atlanta Medical Center
SUMMARY: The future of the former Atlanta Medical Center is unclear for local residents who are disappointed about the lack of emergency services in the new development plan. City officials announced that the site will include green space, affordable housing, and health resources. However, community members conducted a rally to express their desire for urgent care options, highlighting concerns over overcrowded local hospitals like Grady. While plans for the site’s health component will involve community input, residents feel the hospital’s absence is a significant loss. Demolition of certain areas is expected to begin early next year.
The plan currently includes affordable housing, residential properties, green space, neighborhood retail, new street access, and health resources.
