SUMMARY: South Carolina Representative Nancy Mace delivered a passionate hour-long speech in the U.S. House, denouncing individuals who exploit women and children, referencing her own experiences with her ex-fiancé, whom she accused of possessing disturbing images and videos of victims, including herself. Mace claimed to have found over 10,000 explicit images and criticized the South Carolina Attorney General, Alan Wilson, for allegedly delaying her claims, labeling the response as intimidation against victims. In a rebuttal, Wilson’s office stated Mace’s accusations were false, insisting that he was unaware of the allegations until her speech and emphasizing his commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals.

SUMMARY: The Church Street Bridge in downtown Greenville is set for a $30 million renovation project, starting April 15th, and expected to last until March 2026. The bridge, built in the 1950s, has deteriorated with potholes and rust. The project will expand sidewalks, add new lighting, handrails, and barrier walls. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction, causing congestion. While residents welcome the improvements, they are concerned about the impact on traffic. City leaders encourage locals to explore alternative routes during construction. Updates are available on the 29bridge.info website.

SUMMARY: The Alligator Road widening project in Florence is nearing completion after seven years of construction, much to the relief of local residents. Spanning 7.5 miles, the road has been expanded to four lanes, alleviating daily traffic congestion and improving commute times, especially for school buses. The project, part of a six-road initiative funded by a 2006 sales tax, began in 2018 and included a second phase starting in 2021 to address increased traffic from the area’s rapid development. While some minor work remains, the finished project benefits thousands of daily travelers along Alligator Road.
