Renovations continue at Clarkco State Park, but nature trail completed

The state is assisting with significant upgrades, including renovating 43 campsites starting July 8 with new pads and sewage, aiming for completion by February 2025. The office and lodge renovations are nearly done, with six cabins awaiting new furniture. Future plans include a new amphitheater. Nature trails and the tennis court, now featuring pickleball, have been updated, and disc golf is available. Funding has also been secured for mountain bike trails. Tupelo waiting on Target to make decision on new store

Volunteers requested for local “Grow-a-Row” program to combat hunger

SUMMARY: A local nonprofit, Petal Healing Garden, is collaborating with the Forest County Agricultural Extension Office on the Grow a Row program to combat food insecurity. Volunteers can participate after completing a food safety course led by Jesse Tisdale. The program not only helps with food donations but also offers a chance for the community to reconnect with gardening, filling a gap left by the loss of agricultural education in local schools.
