Remembering the lives lost in Hurricane Camille
SUMMARY: Today is the 54th anniversary of Hurricane Camille hitting the continental US, the second most intense hurricane on record, which resulted in over 250 casualties. A memorial is held for three unidentified women, named Faith, Hope, and Charity, symbolizing resilience amidst disasters. The local Harrison County Emergency Management continues to promote the importance of people’s lives over material possessions. There is ongoing hope to identify these women possibly through DNA checking. If there are any leads about these women, the public is encouraged to contact the Harrison County Coroner’s Office.
