New boat slips on the marina's western side played a key role in the recent Gulf Coast Billfish Classic, which saw 81 boats participating. Danny Patalo of Gorf Flows Bait and Tackle experienced strong sales of bait, ice, and fuel. With additional Cobia and upcoming king mackerel tournaments, business is looking promising. Charter boat operations are also off to a good start. Patalo, pleased with stability since Hurricane Ida in 2021, hopes for continued success this summer.
