SUMMARY: This Thanksgiving season is expected to see a record 80 million travelers, with 90% driving to their destinations. According to AAA, factors contributing to this surge include the lowest gas prices in four years and many schools being closed, prompting early road trips. A family from Middle Tennessee noted light traffic during their early departure. However, AAA warns that the worst traffic is anticipated tomorrow evening, between 1 PM and 7 PM, particularly at popular stops like Buc-ee’s. Planning ahead and allowing extra travel time is recommended for travelers this holiday season.

People are already hitting the road this busy thanksgiving season, a record number of drivers are expected this year.
