Raymond resident files appeal over solar farm project
SUMMARY: A Raymond resident, Allison Lauderdale, filed an appeal against the Hinds County Board of Supervisors and Soul City Energy over a recently approved solar farm project near Raymond and Bolton, Mississippi. The supervisor's approval of the project, with a 3-2 vote, prompted Lauderdale to seek a reversal of the decision in the Hinds County Circuit Court, requesting an environmental impact assessment before new permits are granted. Raymond Mayor Isla Tullos also called for a one-year delay to ensure updated regulatory guidelines are applied. Lauderdale argued that a required public hearing was not conducted for the conditional use permit approval.
