Rankins: Latest bond rating highlights IHL’s stewardship of Mississippi’s public universities

Though the system faces challenges such as pension liabilities and enrollment concerns, stable growth is expected post-pandemic. IHL’s cost-saving measures include reducing debt payments by $119 million since 2016, cutting $109 million in energy costs, saving over $105 million in centralized insurance, and negotiating better library subscription terms to save $4 million. These efforts underscore IHL’s dedication to its stewardship role.

SUMMARY: Southern Miss women’s golf made history by securing its first individual and team titles at the 2025 Sun Belt Championship. SUMMARY: This fall, college football in Mississippi will see key rule changes, primarily targeting fake injuries. Players faking injuries to delay games will now result in their team being charged a timeout if a medical evaluation occurs after the next play’s ball is spotted.
