SUMMARY: A 77-year-old suspect was detained but the victim chose not to prosecute. A Rankin County teenager, Colby Tackett, pleaded guilty to aggravated DUI resulting in death after a drunk driving crash that killed a Mothers Against Drunk Driving advocate, Beverly Luckett. Tackett, who was 17 years old at the time of the accident in October 2022, will spend 15 years in prison for the deadly head-on collision on Highway 471 in Brandon. The District Attorney’s office handled the case.
