Rankin County inmate attacked deputy after guilty verdict

Lever, previously scheduled for sentencing in January, now faces additional charges including aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, attempted escape, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, disobeying a police officer, and resisting arrest. He has been booked into the Rankin County Detention Center for treatment.
