Raising money to help provide mammograms
SUMMARY: Local community members in Columbus, Mississippi, have raised money through Zumba to help women with their medical bills. The movement, called Zumba in Pink, aims to pay for mammograms for women who cannot afford them. The United States Health Foundation reports that 18% of Mississippi women do not have access to health insurance. Event Coordinator Stephanie Jones presented a $3,500 check to the imaging center of Columbus. The fundraising efforts will help provide much-needed mammograms for women in need.
