Installing security cameras is also suggested for real-time monitoring. Scott emphasizes the importance of planning ahead when ordering gifts, as replacements may not arrive in time for Christmas. Bartahatchie Bridge is under replacement
SUMMARY: The Bartahatchie Bridge in Monroe County, Mississippi, is currently closed and undergoing replacement due to a drop in its safety rating, which couldn’t support the heavy traffic from loggers and school buses. Built in 1965, it has deteriorated over time, causing inconvenience for local residents like Deborah Tucker. The county is utilizing $4.8 million in Emergency Bridge Repair funds for the project, which is expected to total $5.1 million, with 95% funded by the state to avoid raising local taxes.
