Rain Chances Rising Through Mid-Week
SUMMARY: Ologist Ed Bloodsworth reports a calm Atlantic Basin but active Pacific weather. Currently, light rain is impacting Baldwin County with some isolated downpours. An upper-level high pressure is dominant, leading to moisture buildup and higher humidity. Expect temperatures around 97ยฐF in Jackson, MS, and lower temperatures along the coast due to seabreezes. Rain chances will rise to 30-40% tomorrow with the possibility of afternoon thunderstorms. The weather pattern will remain consistent, with high temperatures in the low 90s and similar rain probabilities through the week and weekend. It’s a classic summer weather scenario.
Seasonable summertime heat continues on the Gulf Coast. Rain chances will get a boost this week.
A stray shower cannot be ruled out this evening, but most of the region will remain dry. Temperatures will continue slowly cool down falling through the 80s and into the middle and upper 70s by sunrise Tuesday.
A slight increase in moisture will lead to a better chance of afternoon showers and storms. Any storms will remain spotty. Highs will reach the lower and middle 90s.
It is wash, rinse, and repeat over the next week. Highs will hover in lower 90s with some pop-up storms mainly for the afternoon hours.
