Raffle being held in support of Petal businesses being affected by bridge closure

SUMMARY: The bills have not come up for a vote in either chamber. The Petal Chamber of Commerce is reaching out to boost the business of some of its members affected by the ongoing construction of the River Avenue Bridge. Charles Herrington has more on how you could win hundreds of dollars just by shopping at one of those businesses later this week. Businesses such as Adam’s Nursery and Keith’s Superstore are participating in a raffle called “Bridge to Recovery” to help those affected by the construction. The winner will be drawn next Monday afternoon at Adam’s Nursery. Forrest County Board of Supervisors President Terri Bell thinks the bridge and roadway could be completed by mid-week.

Tupelo waiting on Target to make decision on new store
