Quality Bakery prepares for roll-out of thousands of king cakes ahead of Mardi Gras season

SUMMARY: Quality Bakery is gearing up for the busy king cake season, which begins on January 6th, when thousands of these popular desserts will flood local markets. Bakery owners Daniel and Gordon White are ensuring customers at their newest Wiggins store can sample their unique twists on the traditional cake, celebrated for its tempting fruit fillings and beloved cream cheese option. Last year, nearly 10,000 king cakes were sold. The family-owned bakery also offers a smaller version called the Hadley. Pre-orders, fundraisers, and walk-in customers drive the bakery’s success during this festive time, with standard cakes priced at $25.

It’s the end of the holiday season, but for local bakeries, the beginning of another.
