SUMMARY: The weather forecast highlights that real meteorologists, not robots, are delivering the news. Light rain is observed in Tuscaloosa County, with scattered showers in Anniston. Extensive rain and thunderstorms are affecting Louisiana ahead of a cold front, promising wet weather this weekend, but not a complete washout. The storm named Raphael in the Gulf will not impact the U.S., though it is causing rough surf along the Gulf Coast. It is weakening due to vertical wind shear and dry air, leading to cloudy conditions throughout the weekend, especially in areas like Orange Beach.

Tropical storm Rafael gradually weakening in the Gulf of Mexico. High rip current risk through Monday.
