Gloomy Conditions with Isolated Coastal Showers: Saturday Morning Forecast 9/7/2024

SUMMARY: Meteorologist Grant Skinner from the First Alert Storm Team reports on tropical developments: a system in the Ukan Peninsula is moving north and into the southwestern , with a medium chance of slow , potentially bringing rain to Northeastern Mexico and Southeastern . The central Atlantic shows another area with low development chances. Locally, scattered clouds and isolated showers are expected along the coast, with a 30% rain chance today. Temperatures will range between the upper 60s to mid-70s, keeping conditions cooler. Rain and cooler weather are anticipated for next , providing relief from the summer heat.

We are starting this morning with humid but mild conditions across the Gulf Coast. Thanks to lingering cloud and isolated showers, we won’t get much warmer throughout the day as highs only sit in the upper-70’s and low-80’s. The majority of the showers will sit along and south of I-10. Rip current risk will be low through the end of the . Sunday will bring only a few showers confined closer to the coast, but mostly cloudy skies will keep temperatures in the low-80’s. We are set to have gloomy conditions even into next week as a stationary boundary stays stalled offshore. Isolated showers and a few storms are possible through the end of the next work week. In the tropics, we are tracking a of areas. One is expected to move into the Bay of Campeche and has a medium chance of development over the next week. It will interact with the frontal boundary in the Gulf, and it could become a depression next week. Another area is in the central Atlantic, but it has a low chance of formation over the next seven days.

Senior Bowl Spotlight: Kenny King
