SUMMARY: Today is the primary election day, and there is still seven hours left to cast your vote. The polls will be open until 7 p.m. Minor problems have been reported at some polling locations. At Christ United Methodist Church in Jackson, there has been a steady flow of voters since morning. It is important to have a plan, know your polling location, and bring your ID to vote. Voters are prohibited from taking pictures of marked ballots. Some scanner system issues were resolved. Precinct changes have been reported in Rankin County and Pine Haven. The race for Lieutenant Governor has three contenders: Delbert Hosemann (incumbent), Chris McDaniel, and Tiffany Longino. Negative campaign ads have been circulating between Hosemann and McDaniel. The race for Governor has four candidates in total: David Hardegree, Tate Reeves, Dr. John Witcher, and Brandon Pressley (Democratic). Other notable races include Hinds County Sheriff, District 72, and State House District 69. Mississippi Move is offering free rides to voters in several counties. The weather forecast for today is overcast with rain in some areas.
