Port City Bowl rescheduled to evening games due to heat index
SUMMARY: The Activities Association has allowed teams to reschedule game times during extreme heat temperatures. These changes also mean that students in the band won’t get overheated. Stephanie Poole explains how the heat affects athletes and spectators during the Port City Bowl. Gulfport High School is gearing up for a showdown during the game, but the heat is a hefty component that they have to deal with. Athletic directors and coaches thought it was in the best interest of the kids to split locations for the game. Gulfport Athletic Director, Matt Walters, says that Friday’s game time has been rescheduled.
