Pontotoc Farmers Market hosting annual fundraiser on Nov. 7
SUMMARY: The Ponto Farmers Market is hosting its annual Farm Harvest fundraiser, aimed at supporting the local food pantry and distributing fresh produce. Julia McDow elaborated that the funds will also provide vouchers for food pantry clients to purchase healthy food at the market. There is a growing demand for donations, emphasizing the need to address food and nutrition insecurity in the community. The fundraiser is scheduled for tomorrow at 6:00 p.m. at the Gateway Pavilion and has sold out this year, doubling ticket sales compared to last year. The goal is to promote access to fresh, locally grown produce for all.

The races to watch
SUMMARY: Democrats aim to reclaim control of the House while Republicans seek to take the Senate during the elections. Currently, Democrats hold a one-seat majority in the Senate, with incumbent Roger Wicker facing challenger Ty Pinkins in Mississippi. In the House, Democrats rely on Bennie Thompson to retain his seat, while Republicans hope Ron Eller can strengthen their majority. Michael Guest in Mississippi’s third district doesn’t face a Democratic challenger. Additionally, several judicial races are noteworthy, including a crowded Mississippi Supreme Court race, and other contested judicial positions in Hinds and Rankin counties are also being monitored.
