Pontotoc County 4-H holds beef show

SUMMARY: Despite the heat, local buckaroos are competing in the Pon Talk County 4-H Livestock Show. To keep everyone cool, extra fans, water faucets, and ice have been added. Nonetheless, 4-H members remain undeterred as they work hard all year for this event. Stal emphasizes the program's importance, highlighting its role in helping kids develop as well-rounded individuals who learn respect, responsibility, and business skills. The event also features a Dominoes tournament, a cornhole tournament, and an 8 PM rodeo.

USA Track and Field Junior Olympics coming to Jackson

SUMMARY: This summer, in addition to the Paris Olympics, Jackson, USA, will host the Southeast Region Junior Olympics for Track and Field starting Thursday, July 4th. Competitors aged 18 and under from Tennessee, Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi will vie for qualification to the national meet at Texas A&M later this summer. Events will take place at Hughes Field and Millsaps College, bringing significant economic benefits and inspiring local youth. Organizers seek to make this an annual event with state support, promoting track and field in Mississippi. A parade featuring athletes from the four states will be held on Saturday morning.
