SUMMARY: Residents in East Nashville are on edge after a dozen cars were broken into on a single street over the weekend. Metro Police are increasing patrols in response to the surge in car thefts. Local resident Rebecca Weiner Tomkins reported her truck was among those targeted, and she also fell victim to package theft from her porch. She expressed concerns for safety, emphasizing that many people leave firearms in their cars, contributing to the problem—over 1,200 guns were stolen from vehicles in Davidson County this year.
