Police investigate assault in downtown Columbus
SUMMARY: A suspect named Brody Kizer has been arrested for aggravated assault after two people were attacked in Columbus, Mississippi. The incident occurred when the victims confronted a group they saw vandalizing decorations, leading to a fight that resulted in severe injuries requiring hospitalization and surgery for one victim. Columbus Police Chief Joseph Daughtry acknowledged that more suspects are likely, with four men and two women under consideration, of whom two individuals have been tentatively identified. No weapons were used in the assault. Mayor Keith Gaskin expressed his disgust at the violence and is hopeful that city surveillance cameras will aid the investigation. No further arrests have been reported.

SUMMARY: A Delta Air Lines flight from Minneapolis to Toronto flipped over while landing at Pearson Airport on February 17, 2025.
